This booklet will help students to understand how to emphasise the action, or recipient of the action, rather than the doer.  This is useful in scientific writing, formal reports and certain types of storytelling, where the focus should be on the event rather than on who preformed the action.

Knowing both voices, Active and Passive, allows students to vary their sentences structures, making their writing more engaging and dynamic.  Overusing either voice can lead to monotonous writing, so the ability to switch between them is a valuable skill.

This resource includes an explanation, exercises, quiz and answers. It is estimated to last for 2 x 1 hour lessons.
