A tool to help support learners with special educational needs.
This tool helps teachers and SENCOs to solve problems and find out what might help a learner by focusing on positives and what we already know.
This tool can be used to focus on what we have done already in order to find solutions and plan ahead.
Instructions
- Start with a recap of the focus or issue that we want to address.
- Use this as a sentence starter to answer the following 4 questions…
(e.g. Since the last time we me to look at how we can help Maryam with her learning…)
– What have we tried?
– What have we learned?
– What are we pleased about?
– What are we concerned about?
-
Everyone participating in the conversation should have chance to add to the questions. This can be done on separate pages or on a larger flip chart page.
-
Once everyone has had opportunity to add their perspectives to the questions, use this information to agree next steps using the final ‘+1’ question:
– What should we try/do next based on what we have learned?
Something went wrong, please try again later.
