
Persuasive Letter - Dinosaur English Planning
Suitable for KS1
This series of lessons is a lot of fun! The children will watch a video of Andy from Andy’s Dinosaur Adventures, and look at a model text explaining why Andy needs to stay away from dinosaurs. They will then look at the features/structure of a persuasive text and then plan and write their own.
The children will write their letter about why Andy should take them on his next adventure!
This resource includes 5 days of planning (761 words), an example letter (WAGOLL), and 1 resource, but you will need to make most of the resources yourself. The planning has the below WALTs:
- Understand what persuasion is.
- Find the features of a persuasive letter.
- Plan a persuasive letter.
- Write a letter.
- Write a letter.
This plan includes 4 levels of differentiation;
Red 1 - SEN children
Yellow 2 - Main task with a scaffold
Green 3 - Main task
Blue 4 - Greater depth/ mastery challenge
