This powerpoint guides the children to write a persuasive letter to the headteacher to save their playtime. The powerpoint starts with a nasty letter to the headteacher trying to argue for shorter breaks. The children must discuss how they will put their side of the argument across for playtimes being essential. Includes features of persuasion and provides a simple structure for writing which can be displayed on the board. The plenary slide includes a sample letter to check for features and suggest improvements. Now also includes planning.
I used this with a Year 4 class (some were very concerned that their playtimes might actually be taken away!)
