A simple excel sheet that enables you to demonstrate counting on and back in steps of 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000 and 100000 to the whole class(National Curriculum 2014 Maths Year 5 objective). Make sure you have macros enabled when prompted. To enter the start number click on the various buttons to reach the total. Then just press the buttons and encourage the children to discuss the effect.
