Plant Structure and Function

T he resource could be used to assess students' grasp of the topic of photosynthesis and the plant organ that is adapted for this process. It gives more meaning to the definition of an organ (a group of tissues that perform a particular function). Students will appreciate that the leaf is the organ for photosynthesis and that the different tissues (epidermis, palisade mesophyll, spongy mesophyll, phloem, xylem) play their respective parts in photosynthesis.
