Poetry analysis - My Mother's Mother

Using Alun Rees’ 2005 peom, ‘My Mother’s Mother’ this is a great resource to introduce KS4 students into the world of poetry using accessible language, in keeping with its intention of celebrating the ‘ordinary person’.

This unit of work includes a full PowerPoint for students, and a full analysis of the text including rich context.

This is the first of two lessons, the second exploring ‘My Mother’s Perfume’, which ulitmately scaffholds students into attempting thier first poetry GCSE question in a controlled setting.
