A resource aimed at Advanced Level Biology students, this practical schedule provides a fully detailed method by which students can investigate the effect of pH on the rate at which hydrogen peroxide is broken down by catalase. The experiment itself is straightforward to set up and the data gathered from the investigation can be analysed to produce the classic pH versus rate of reaction graph. The schedule includes several exam style questions based on student's understanding of the practical exercise as well as a mark scheme with answers.

Key words: catalase, rate, enzyme, pH, buffer, hydrogen peroxide
