A lesson, including activities, to help with analysis of writers use of colour and photos in non-fiction media texts. Includes colour connotations (which I got students to copy into books for future reference), a card sort activity on presentational devices (including a differentiated resource with visual stimulus for lower ability students) and a brief look at why writers use colours and photos. Ends with a writing task that is good practice for Paper 1 Section A responses.
