This lesson is part of the sex and relationships unit for PSHE . It covers all the main STIs and how to reduce risk. There is slide about ground rules for discussion, a video link on how to reduce risk, a table which can be printed for students to complete and a second slide that can be used as a worksheet about how to reduce risk that goes with the video. There is also advice and support from outside agencies.
By the end of lessons students are expected to:
I know how the different sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDs, are transmitted
I can explain how risk can be reduced through safer sex (including through condom use)
I can explain the importance of and facts about testing.
