This is an engaging card sort activity on quadratic functions. Students have 20 cards with a statement on each card concerning one of these characteristics:

  • the domain
  • the axis of symmetry
  • the vertex
  • the interval on increasing or interval of decreasing
  • the range
  • the maximum or minimum value
  • the x- intercepts
  • y- intercept
  • the standard and vertex forms

Students have to check whether the statement is true and chose the option ”TRUE” or the option “FALSE” for each card. Then students sort the cards.

Students can work in pairs or individually.

Student recording sheet and answer keys are included.
