Ingredients

250g strong flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 pack fast action dried yeast
150ml warm water
1 tablespoon oil
1 egg

Equipment
mixing bowl, measuring jug, scales, wooden spoon, teaspoon, tablespoon, greased baking tray, pastry brush, small bowl, fork, cling film

Method

  1. Sieve the flour into a bowl
  2. Add the salt, sugar and yeast and stir
  3. In a separate container, add the oil to warm water
  4. Add the water and oil to the flour mixture
  5. Mix and then use your hand to make a dough
  6. Knead for around 10 minutes
  7. Cut and shape the dough to make rolls
  8. Place onto the oiled baking tray and cover
  9. Leave to prove for around 10 minutes, preferably in a warm place
  10. Glaze with beaten egg
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 220C/200 fan oven/ gas mark 7 for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
