I created this after seeing something similar on pinterest. You will need to laminate both sheets. Cut out the cars and buttons. Fold the strips forwards and backwards and stick one end to a button and the other to the corresponding circle on the mat.
The idea is that the child says the sound as they press each button. They then select a car. (There are several cool racing cars to choose from!) The child blends the sounds together as they drive from the start to finish line. I have included some cards that would also need laminating. These contain a mixture of phase 2 sounds. As it is a word document, you could edit these cards to contain specific sounds.
I created this resource for a SEN child in Year 2 to support him with a specific target but it could be of equal use in EYFS or adapted for YEar 1 pupils to support the phonics screening test.
We use a cursive font (CCW cursive) in my school - you may wish to change the font to your school font. I have also saved the files as PDFs if you want to use them with my font.
