Herewith a lesson which is a bridge between the learning about the synagogue and shabbat. I personally like to teach about the fabric of the synagogue and the history of the buildings (in this unit - lesson 1) and then cover worship (which is also obviously part of shabbat).
We use PPTs to guide the learning and the students will make notes where appropriate. I have also build in discussion and tasks.
In addition I have produced a worksheet which contains information on the 4 types of prayer that form the basis of Jewish synagogue worship. My students will stick this into their books and annotate with highlighters etc.
I have done a sort of quiz at the end to clearly establish progress. You could also include an exam style question if you wanted.
