This RE SMART and PowerPoint is a series of six lessons and all resources based on RE planning for the unit “How should we care for the world and for others, and why does it matter?” The unit looks at Christianity and Judaism and the two religions’ relationship with the world and nature.

Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include Bible passage discussion; Psalm 8 study; Psalm 8 illustration group task; valuable and unique person drawing task; feelings role play activity; friendship in films and books discussion; good neighbour discussion; Good Samaritan discussion and role play; “building up” others song; five way challenges looking at buiding others up; look at how Tzedekah links to our community; drawing and writing task linked to Sukkot; study of Dr Barnardo; artwork task linked to the Golden Rule “Treat other people as you would like them to treat you”; role play scenarios linked to the Golden Rule; thank you card task for someone who cares for us; study of Creation story in Genesis; matching art work and Bible excerpt from Creation story; conscience alley based on good and bad in the world today; group collage activity based on good and bad in today’s world; analysis of a story linked to Tu B’shevat; and a poem, artwork or poster task based on the Big Question “How should we care for others and the world and why does it matter?”

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All resources are included, and there is a printing requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
