Read Write Inc Special Friend lanyard fan

Hi everyone,

I have made these RWI lanyard fans to support children in recognising their ‘special friends’ when learning to read through Ruth Miskin’s Read, Write, Inc programme. They have been a huge success within our school and having them around your neck makes it that much easier to flash on the go and target children throughout the day. The picture provides the memory jog and then I cover up the picture to move children onto the letter recognition.

I will also be doing them for the additional sounds that RWI have for phonics screening.

Anyway, I hope they are useful!
