I have been an English teacher since 2008 and I continue to enjoy what I do. Approaching lessons and the curriculum with a creative eye has kept my interest in what 'must' be taught and my resources reflect this. Active, engaged students are what I am aiming for. (Positive mindset and all that!) I hope you can find something useful within this 'shop' - our job is hard enough without having to create everything from scratch! Kate

This is a complete, fully resourced 7 lesson unit of work to ease the transition from Primary Pupil to Secondary English Student.
It is built around the novel Stone Cold and focuses on the theme of homelessness. Co-operative learning strategies are embedded in the scheme of work as well as WAGOLLs and other models/examples of strong analysis.
This unit comes with a lesson-by-lesson PowerPoint and differentiated work pack for either lower ability or middle to high ability students. As I taught Edexcel at the time of making the scheme, it uses the PETER acronym for strong, focused analysis. Assessment is also included!
