READING FOR PLEASURE LOG - get your students to log 20 minutes of reading per day

Just 20 minutes of reading per day will expose a student to 1,800,000 words before they leave school.

Research shows that reading has a positive influence on reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary, because students who read for pleasure make more progress in maths, vocabulary and spelling between the ages of 10 and 16 than those who rarely read. A study has shown that children who read for pleasure have a 14.4% advantage in vocabulary and a 9.9% advantage in maths over students who do not read often.

This reading log can be used by students either voluntarily , promoted by the school library, or in a mandatory way through English lessons.

The reading log is fully editable as it is a word document.
