This is a four-week reading journal based on The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. To use it, students should read five chapters a week and can then choose from six (or more) open-ended activities based on what they have read.
Activities include comparing characters; looking for new vocabulary; summarising and relating what has been read to student’s own experiences.
I recommend each student has their own mini-notebook for their journal and could present it at the end of each week to be graded or share it with members of the class to compare entries and responses.
The page numbers are based on the Random House Edition 2016.
