A selection of articles and reflections on the subject of Anatta. I include several sources which explore Anatta and some exercises including an essay outline. Pupils and students can also use silent reflection to explore self and change, just watching their thoughts. Afterwards write notes of what they remember thinking about + colour code these notes, to show which thoughts related to past, present, future or the world of imagination. Then discuss observations re Anatta and Anicca.

Great resource, thanks!
Thanks DurgaMata for researching and posting this. It is indeed difficult to find well referenced and accessible explanations to such key Buddhist concepts. Though I studied Buddhism at Uni' for 3 years I still find 'Anatta' a difficult concept to teach students without over simplifying. I appreciate what you've shared and will be using it to better inform myself and then my students.
Lots of information, could have got it from google but it's nice to have it done for me. Not sure I will have time to read all this stuff but I appreciate you taking the time to paste it all together. Thanks. I also appreciate the many other resources you've posted on TES and I like the way you give your own resources such high ratings, too many of us these days lack such self confidence! Keep up the good work!
I am concerned that the review suggesting they 'could have just got this off google' may put some RE teachers off looking any further. I have sent this person a pm which I would like to share here to balance their comment. I am quite concerned about the comment you have given to my resource on the Buddhist concept of Anatta Please read the resource in detail and note that I have selected items from many sites- always giving the links and credit to those authorities - and have processed some of this material to create the resources shared here. Your comment is inaccurate and unhelpful. I spent many hours over several days researching the topic, selecting and processing information to make it as useful as possible to teachers who are engaged in conveying this complex and quite confusing topic to their classes. I mentioned this resource on the RE Forum and teachers there have said that they do find it useful, so please remove or amend your comments as they are likely to prevent teachers from looking at this excellent resource. My aim is to support RE in every way that I can. I know how busy a Head of RE is and how difficult it is to find time to research into subjects like this and process the information into resources that our students can access. What is your interest in RE and what is your aim in posting such inaccurate comments? I wonder if you might be an atheist of the variety that seem to feel it is their mission in life to attack anything that takes religion seriously. If so we could have some useful conversations, so do give me a pm. sincerely DurgaMata
