Reciprocal Reading role cards

Many schools are now using reciprocal reading as a method used to develop learners’ reading skills. It promotes higher order thinking, develop listening and talking, and promotes engagement with reading!

Here's a set of handy role cards to support and remind students of their role in reading activities. Included are 8 roles (we added an extra few to the standard roles to include opportunities when there are larger than normal groups, or if a variation or challenge is needed for any pupils!)

Each card summarises what the role entails and some useful phrases to guide them when in their groups. The roles are:

Leader, Summariser, Clarifier, Predictor, Illustrator, Questioner, Luminary and Character.

Just print, laminate and off you go!
