This is a nice morning registration activity that can allow you to cram an extra 5 minutes of maths into your busy timetables!
This PowerPoint is based on a class of 24 but please add/subtract children as necessary. The idea is centred around subtraction. If you have people marked as away in your class, move the children over to the house picture and they 'disappear&'... Then you can count as a class how many people are left. This could then be shown as a number sentence to show that 24 children takeaway 3 children is 21 children!
