You have enough to do so let me do some of the hard work for you. I have been a teacher in England for almost 10 years but I've been working in schools even longer than that. I have taught across year groups from Year 2 upwards in primary schools therefore I know what good resources look like and require. I also know how little time teachers have to prepare quality resources so wanted to share great resources for teachers to have the option of using instead of creating their own from scratch.

An activity sheet which focuses on understanding the building blocks for writing relative clauses. It uses Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo as a theme for the sentences. It is suitable for children in Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 4, 5 & 6). Includes an answer sheet.

The sheet begins by understanding which part of the sentence is the relative clause. Task 2 focuses on the relative pronoun. Task 3 looks to expose misconceptions. Task 4 requires commas being placed in to edit sentences, to show where the relative clause is. Task 5 is more open as it requires a relative clause to be entered into a given sentence.
