Poetry - Dinosaur English Planning
Suitable for KS1 or lower KS2

Looking for some roarsome poetry planning? These 5 lessons engage and motivate children to write their own poems. They will gather some inspiration from Dinosaur Poems by John Foster and then learn more about rhymes before thinking of their own!

This plan includes 5 days of planning with the below WALTs:

1. Recite a poem by heart.
2. Change a rhyming poem.
3. Write a rhyming poem.
4. Illustrate our poems.
5. Practice and perform our poems.

This plan includes 4 levels of differentiation;
