I love the NCETM Mastery Professional Development resources but have always found them very time-consuming to make sense of and deliver to a class.
I’ve made this Smart Notebook to turn the following unit into deliverable lessons (future units will be done on PowerPoint!):
Spine 1: Number, Addition and Subtraction – Topic 1.23
The NCETM teacher guide and PowerPoint of representations can be found here:
https://www.ncetm.org.uk/classroom-resources/primm-1-23-composition-and-calculation-tenths/
By the time I’ll have finished this unit it will have taken me roughly 2 weeks.
This unit is intended for Year 4 but I am using it with my Year 5 group as per NCETM’s curriculum prioritisation map, which can be found here: https://www.ncetm.org.uk/classroom-resources/cp-curriculum-prioritisation-in-primary-maths/
I have also made the first Year 6 unit too (normally intended for Year 5) which can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12575726
This took me hours to make and I always share my resources for free. However, if you have found it useful and would consider chucking a book my way (I’m trying to collect class sets for my class), I’d really appreciate it!
