AQA Entry Level 1 Maths - Subtraction

This resource has been designed for students working towards the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Maths who are working at Entry Level 1. It contains an age-appropriate, 100 slide PowerPoint lesson and a 27-page workbook on subtraction.

These resources will help pupils to achieve these outcomes:

subtract one number up to 20 from another
understand and use the – and = signs
understand the key words – minus, take, take away, subtract, find the difference, how much more, how much less
use subtraction to solve simple real-life number problems
understand that subtraction is the inverse of addition

Powerpoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson explains how to subtract one number from another and provides many opportunities for pupils to practise and apply their subtraction skills. It also contains links to four short videos on subtraction and subtraction exam questions. It is an ideal resource to introduce pupils to the subtraction component of the AQA Entry Level 1 specification and for revision purposes.

Workbook
