French Game Battleships: Shapes

A fun speaking and listening game where pupils use shape names to sink their opponents’ battleships. This version of the game uses shape names along with numbers, colours and sentence starters.

• Vocabulary sheets x3
• Rules of the game

Resources provided are differentiated to enable pupils with a range of ability levels to participate in the game.

This material can be used to teach the following National Curriculum languages attainment targets:
• To listen attentively to spoken language and show understanding by joining in and responding;
• To engage in conversations; ask and answer questions; express opinions and respond to those of others; seek clarification and help;
• To speak in sentences, using familiar vocabulary, phrases and basic language structures;
• To present ideas and information orally to a range of audiences.
