Role Play - Mermaid's Picnic

This document provides ideas on how to set up your own Mermaid’s Picnic Role play. An excellent add on to any Pirate theme you may already deliver.
The document links the role play to the seven areas of learning within the latest Early Years Framework and Development Matters Document so that you know what to look out for in your observations as well as easily link the role play to your own planning format. The Mermaid’s Picnic idea provides opportunities for child, adult initiated learning as well as small group adult led. This is my first document made to share, please give me feedback as to anything else you would find useful.
