The complete scheme of work for Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry by Mildred D Taylor. I’ve worked through these lessons twice with year 9 groups eight years apart and it is such a fascinating and important historical, semi-biographical narrative which really hits hard in the current climate. Students want to understand the history of black Americans and what is happening currently,. This is the perfect way to educate, inform and to open up discussion of causes and consequences. My top set year 9 class said it was the most important thing they’d ever done in school and that was in 2010.
Every lesson for the whole novel with questions for each paragraph, supporting activities and essay planninng support. Nothing to prepare. Buy and teach. And enjoy!
Not worth the money, it's not a full complete scheme of work. One whole powerpoint about the context, no extracts, no analysis, no links to novel. £20 just for pictures and context, extremely expensive!

I'm so sorry you think it's expensive! It took me hours to create, of course, and I tried to be clear about the description. There are activities, questions, custom wordsearches and all sorts. All resources need adapting to your class. Your students need your specific input to achieve their particular objectives and this scheme gives you a really good start to that mission.<br />
I absolutely love this book and in no way would wish to do it a disservice. Saying that, I made these resources years ago now, so I'm sure you have a better knowledge of how to make them work for the present climate. I'm really glad you're teaching this book now. <br />
