Romeo and Juliet GCSE Literature Paper 1 Essay Planning Booklet

This resource has been a lifesaver in preparing my GCSE group for their Literature Paper 1 - Romeo and Juliet section. The booklet is structured so that it includes:
• A contents page with a reminder of 12 key themes and characters
• 5 practice papers for a selection of the themes and characters
• Guidance on how to approach each question in timed conditions
• Colour coded headings so that students can see where they’ll be hitting each of the AOs
• A structured planning sheet for each for each question (I included 5 in here to save on printing and a blank copy at the back of the booklet for students to photocopy to continue planning)
• Modelled examples of how to plan
• Some scaffolded examples to guide their planning on the initial pages
This means our revision lessons have been student-led, students can work through the booklet at their own pace and keep track of their progress with the tick sheet. I encourage them to write up each plan into a full essay following completion.
