A short video for students concerning the waves required practicals for GCSE. This video covers the measurement of waves in water and waves in a solid (on a string).
The required practical concerning measurement of waves in a wave tank is notoriously difficult if not impossible to complete in a classroom environment. We have elected to show this as a demonstration and then provide students with photographs of wave tank projected images that have a scale attached to them and a frequency. The students can then calculate the wave speed as an outcome.
