Self Assessment, AfL, Traffic Light posters

Many schools have adopted the Traffic Light system for children to self assess their own work using AfL techniques. Have they achieved the Learning Objective and included all the Success Criteria? Are they happy with their work, or could they have done better?

The following ‘Traffic Lights’ are for classroom display and help to reinforce the need to self assess. At the end of each lesson the children can stamp (or draw) traffic lights and colour in the appropriate light. If they are happy with their work they colour in the green light; if they aren’t sure they colour in the yellow light; and, if they need more help or guidance they colour in the red or pink light.
