Sentence Building Activity

This activity is ideal for SEN and EAL children who need to work on their early sentence building skills working on subject + verb. Children pick a card and then say WHO is the picture and WHAT they are doing. They then choose the correct subject and verb phrase from the selection to make a sentence such as ‘The girl is eating’ or ‘The horse is jumping.’ There are 24 different picture cards which correspond with the sentences : The girl, The boy, The dog, The cat, The horse … is eating, is sleeping, is running, is jumping, is walking.
