This resource can be used (and adapted) for any class working on ratios.
The sheet just provides a list of money option which the students play for.
How to play:
Student 1 picks the amount to play for.
Student 2 rolls the dice twice. The first number is their ratio share and the second number is student 1's share. They then work out how much money they have won and bank it. (I normally do this on a mini-white board).
That value gets crossed off and they move onto the next swapping rolls.
At the end of the time, the student with the most money wins a prize.

You can make it more interesting especially if you use the card with negative values on it. The student rolling could pick their share after the die has been rolled twice. This promotes discussion about whether you want a big or small share of the amount you are playing for.

It is best with 2 or three players per team.

A fantastic idea for a ratios lesson once all of the basics have been covered. Fun too!

What a fantastic idea....took me a while to understand(could be just me) but what an engaging task for students. And one can be sure they'll peer-assess critically as they want to win the game. Brilliant, also with idea to differentiate by using negative values.
