I used this with my Year 10 Geographers in order to give them a bit more of an idea of how cities grow in a layered fashion, and it seemed to work quite well. Comparing the settlements created by different groups can be eye-opening, as well as a good way to extend and develop the activity by making references to existing models.
Could be used with a variety of groups and in different situations, it was created as an analogue version of Sim City (and any suggestions for improvements would be very welcome!
