Singin’ in the Rain Movie Guide | Worksheet | Questions | Google (G - 1952) challenges students to analyze characters, their decisions and their struggles. Identify the repeating formula for Don and Lina’s silent movie hits and consider whether modern movies follow a formulas as well. Identify recurring rhymes in lyrics and test students’ ability to repeat the diction coach’s tongue twisters. Explore the symbolism of the green-dressing-wearing, coin-flipping dancer that Don encounters. Finally, ask students to make an argument for whether or not Lina will be successful in suing R.F. Simpson for defamation of character after the closing scene.

This resource consists of 12 high-level, short answer and essay questions that will do more than just ask your students to regurgitate information.

• Pause the movie at each question to give students time to write/discuss
