Slow writing - Improving descriptive writing

This is a powerpoint explaining the concept of slow writing; a process in which children follow certain instructions to create a descriptive piece of story writing. I have based my powerpoint on a book extract from The Snow Walker's Son by Catherine Fisher.
I used this lesson with a year 4 class and they loved it. The powerpoint has a slide with a differentiated activity which can be edited to suit the needs of your class if need be.
I really recommend slow writing as I have got some of the best descriptive writing out of my class from using this approach.
