Stalin's Policy of Collectivisation

Lesson develops students understanding of the organisation of collective farms under Stalin’s First Five Year Plan. Sources and graduated questioning challenge students to analyse opposition from the Kulaks to Stalin’s plans and the resultant consequences on the Kulaks. Students are additionally challenged through graduating question tasks to assess the economic and social impact of the eradication of Kulak class. Through analysis, discussion and scaffolding of activity tasks, students are challenged to evaluate whether Stalin’s collectivisation policy under the First Five Year Plan was successful or not.
