This lesson looks enables pupils to explain the difference in densities for different states of matter. Pupils build on their knowledge of the arrangement of atoms in the different states to explain why solids usually have the highest densities.

Pupils then go on to look at the calculation for density and are given different examples to apply their knowledge to.
