Get your students to practice their OBSERVATION and DISCUSSION skills with ‘TALKING PICTURES’; individual prompt and discussion cards which focus on a Work of Art.
Each card includes a high quality image of the artwork and key information about the artist.
A series of questions and prompts supports students in practicing and applying their observation and discussion skills about the artwork, its subject matter, style and techniques, and historical context.
No prior knowledge about Art History is necessary for either students or teachers.
The prime objective is to use Art and Artists as a focal point for practicing and applying the skills of OBSERVATION, DISCUSSION and DEBATE.
‘Talking Pictures’ is a resource which can be used in:
Art lessons
History lessons
Oracy practise lessons
Homework resource

The educational level of information and questions/prompts is appropriate for Primary years 4-6, and Secondary pre-GCSE level.
All cards are in the PDF format.
They can be projected on a screen or Smart TV or printed for individual student use.
