I devised this activity for my yr7 class, but it would work just as well in primary school (KS2) when introducing tally charts and bar charts.
I asked the class to record the colour of the first 30 cars they saw on their way home from school, and then make a tally chart and draw a barchart with that information. You can of course adapt it to suit.

Great worksheet! I can also use this as an activity to create the bar graph.
