They will see that 7,283-1,995 is the same as 7,288-2,000.
Written methods for more complex additions and subtractions are also covered. These include the traditional ‘right to left’ methods. However, ‘left to right’ additions and subtractions are also taught (this is how many adults add and subtract large numbers mentally).
