The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Novel Study
Like many of you, my favorite time of the day is read aloud. Right after lunch, I call my students to the carpet area and I explain to them that their job for the next fifteen minutes is to get lost in a good book, to use their imagination, and to believe in the impossible. For years I have heard my fellow teachers rave about The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Finally, I decided to take their advice and I was not disappointed, the only regret I have about this novel is that I did not read it sooner!
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a story about the six worst children in the history of the world. A small town is turned upside down when the Herdmans decide they want to take part in the annual Christmas pageant.
My students ADORED this novel! While reading the book, one of my fourth graders told me that this is the funniest book he has ever read. Not only is this book tremendously witty, it has an amazing message that warms your heart during the holiday season.
