Pupils are asked to plan a Big Lunch for a community group. In preparation they research different types of food from around the world and consider some foods that are shared at community events. They are also encouraged to think about what makes a balanced diet and healthy eating.

They draw on this learning to plan a three course menu that will be judged by the teacher or school chef, after they have presented it to them and the rest of the class.

These activities and resources offer a challenge-based approach to learning about food or as part of a cross-curricular extension/enrichment programme.
