SEN English/Literacy schemes (Key Stage 3/4)- Bundle 1

Schemes of learning for SEN/ lower sets for year 7,8,9,10 and 11. These schemes are designed to support literacy skills with a focus on vocabulary, reading and writing. They have been created by a Head of Literacy at a secondary school with previous primary school experience. All schemes were taught to classes and are designed to be engaging and supportive. They centre around a novel which is read to the class at the beginning of the session followed by activities. The schemes are based on the following texts: Year 7- Ghost Boys Year 8- There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom Year 9- Brock Year 10- The Curious incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Year 11- The Bunker Diary Each scheme contains 12-18 hour long lessons. They are designed to be taught over a half term/term (depending on how often you see your class). They are progressive. They can be taught as additional English lessons, as interventions or discrete literacy lessons.
