I have written out the Christmas story (with a little poetic license) to make it more accessible for children in KS1 and LKS2. 4 A4 pages with a PSHE slant of the 'characters' being ordinary people.
"Joseph was an ordinary man. A normal, down-to-earth, regular kind of guy. He was Jewish, part of God’s chosen people and, like all of his family and friends, he took God VERY seriously. That’s just the way things were .... ... ... When Joseph found out that Mary was going to have a baby, he was really concerned. He was worried that everyone would say nasty things about Mary, and about him. He knew that some people would be rude to them and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to hang around for that. That night, Joseph had the clearest dream he had ever had. "
