For schools interested in linking to HM The King and HM The Queen Consort’s Coronation Celebrations, we have prepared some special Coronation Big Lunch lesson plans.
These are targeted at KS3/4 but could be adapted for use with younger students.
Pupils are asked to analyse an advert using media language. They then create their own storyboard for a TV advert for the King and Queen Consort’s Coronation. They are encouraged to think creatively about using colours, props, setting, costumes which connote royalty, a party, a formal occasion, Buckingham Palace etc. This can be used as a speaking and listening assessment.
