The Explorer by Katherine Rundell 6 Week Writing Unit KS2

This is a 6 week unit of work based on The Explorer by Katherine Rundell. The unit has writing focus with outcomes such as, information reports, poetry, character descriptions and balanced argument.

There are four planned lessons each week allowing one lesson for a guided reading or catch up session. Each lesson includes; learning objective, a starter activity, teaching input, independent activity and a plenary.

The unit is aimed at Year 5 but can be easily adapted to suit Year 4 or Year 6.
