The History of English Four Skills

The Uplingo team believes strongly that the best way to improve listening skills is for students to first engage in fun activities related to the listening, and then to create a reason for listening. This resource includes a staged worksheet with the following sections:
Context setting activity- pair work about languages and a team game on global languages.
A mind map activity where students brainstorm what they know about English
Vocabulary matching activity
Team work game/ active listening activity: Guess the answers to the questions then listen to see if they are correct.
Reflection activity on the English language and the predicting activity
A post listening reading activity: students find points for and against English as a global language
Discussion on English as a global language - using formal discussion sentence starters
