In this simple but effective musical Nativity for 3-6 year olds everyone is going on an important journey. It brings them to the stable where they find baby Jesus and they all want to celebrate.
It is just right for very young children and can be put on quickly and easily with little to worry about in the way of staging and scenery. The children only have 3 songs to learn, but by using different accompaniments to fit the various characters, 6 distinctive numbers are created. The play builds into a simple tableau and the narrator’s part (virtually the only speaking part) is in rhyme. It can be read by an adult or an older child or shared out among individual performers or small groups.
